Ladislaus Beszedes

Ladislaus Beszedes (born August 18, 1874 in Felde ( Slovakia , then Kingdom of Hungary ), † November 10, 1922 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian sculptor .

Life

Ladislaus Beszedes' curriculum vitae can hardly be found in the relevant specialist literature, but files of the ÖStA / War Archives provide information about his biographical data. During the First World War living in Budapest, asked Beszedes on October 3, 1917 for admission as a painter and sculptor in the imperial war press headquarters , where he was taken to 13 October 1917 in the professional lists. On November 10th of the same year he received his first homework order to Budapest. For the planned new peace uniform for the Austro-Hungarian Army , he provided a sketch for caps in August 1918. In March 1918 he gave two plaster figures ( The Last Grenade and After the Storm ) to the Army Administration at the picture collection point; 8 more plaster figures followed in September 1918. In his list of qualifications, Beszedes was described as a “quiet, good officer” and “a capable academic sculptor who created excellent things in the field of small sculptures” . On November 6, 1918, the artist, whose further life is unknown, was removed from the status of the war press headquarters.
