Jesenské (until 1927 in Slovak "Veladín", "Veledín" or "Feled", from 1927 to 1948 "Feledince"; in Hungarian Feled ) is a municipality in southern Slovakia . It is located in the southern Slovak basin at the foot of the Cerová vrchovina mountain range , at the mouth of the Gortva River in the Rimava , about 10 km south of Rimavská Sobota .
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1274. From 1938 to 1945 it belonged to Hungary again through the First Vienna Arbitration . In 1948, the place of national political reasons was in honor of the Slovak writer Janko Jesenský in Jesenské renamed.
Jesenské has a train station on the Zvolen – Košice railway line ; the Jesenské – Brezno railway branches off in town.
There are two churches in the village (from 1737 and 1898).
