Radnovce (Hungarian Nemesradnót or short Radnót ) is a municipality in the south center of Slovakia with 964 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), in the Rimavská Sobota District of, a circle kraj Banskobystrický lies and landscape Gemer is counted.

The municipality is located in the middle of the Rimavská kotlina basin , part of the larger Juhoslovenská kotlina unit , in the wide valley of the Blh river in the Slaná catchment area . The center of the village is located at an altitude of 170  m nm and is 18 kilometers from Rimavská Sobota and 20 kilometers from Tornaľa .

Neighboring communities are Vieska nad Blhom in the north, Barca in the northeast, Cakov in the east and south, Orávka and Bottovo in the southwest and Sútor in the west.

history

Radnovce was established in the 13th century on what was then the royal castle of Gemer and was first mentioned in writing in 1332 as Radnotfalva . In 1427, 20 porta are recorded in a tax register, during the 15th century the village was owned by the Bebek and Pölhös families . In 1828 there were 113 houses and 922 inhabitants, mostly noblemen who were employed as farmers.

Until 1918/1919, the place in Gemer and Kleinhont counties belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. Between 1938 and 1944 he was again in Hungary due to the First Vienna Arbitration .

According to the 2011 census, Radnovce had 825 inhabitants, including 718 Magyars , 52 Roma and 20 Slovaks . 35 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity .

412 residents committed to the Roman Catholic Church, 205 residents to the Reformed Church, 20 residents to the Jehovah's Witnesses and two residents to the Evangelical Church AB; one resident professed a different denomination. 138 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 47 residents was not determined.
