Ladislav Smoljak

Ladislav Smoljak (born December 9, 1931 in Prague , Czechoslovakia , † June 6, 2010 in Kladno , Czech Republic ) was a Czech actor , film director and screenwriter .

biography

After graduating from high school, Ladislav Smoljak originally wanted to study at the theater faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague . He was rejected and instead studied physics and mathematics at Charles University in Prague . After graduating, he taught at both university and school for a few years. At the same time he worked as a freelance journalist and later founded the Divadlo Járy Cimrmana with Jiří Šebánek and Zdeněk Svěrák . From the end of the 1960s he played increasingly in theater and film. He made his debut as a screenwriter with the comedy horoscope from the computer and as a director with the television comedy Dveře .

Smoljak died on June 6, 2010 at the age of 78 in Kladno hospital.
