Lady Bedfort

Lady Bedfort was a radio play series by John Beckmann, Michael Eickhorst and Dennis Rohling, which was published by the Osnabrück radio play label Hörplanet . The crime series is set in the small English town of Broughton on the English coast in the present.

The main character is Lady Clara Bedfort (up to episode 26 spoken by Barbara Ratthey , who died on October 18, 2009, from episodes 27 to 55 by Waltraud Habicht , from episode 56 to episode 77 by Margot Rothweiler since episode 78 by Isabella Grothe ), a little in the style of Miss Marple , with her butler Max (voiced by Dennis Rohling) solving criminal cases, not always to the delight of the local inspector Samuel Miller (voiced by Santiago Ziesmer ).

In addition to John Beckmann, who left at the end of 2009, Sebastian Weber, Dennis Rohling, Michael Eickhorst, Marc Freund, Thorsten Beckmann, Yann Krehl, Wolfgang Schroeder, Frederic Brake, Ulrike Rylance and Esther Kaufmann also wrote manuscripts for the series.

Awards

In May 2008, Barbara Ratthey was awarded the ear canoe as “Best Speaker 2007” for her portrayal of Lady Bedfort.
In April 2009 Sarah Riedel was awarded the Ohrkanus as "Best Speaker in a Supporting Role 2008" for her portrayal of Joan Loveham in episode 17.
In February 2010, Barbara Ratthey was posthumously honored with the radio play award as "Best Speaker 2009" for her portrayal of Lady Bedfort.
