Lady Gaga (beef)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lady Gaga (born on September 17, 2006 ; died on December 3, 2019; Herd book number FR5454809453) was a Holstein-Friesian black and white cow and multiple show winner. The multiple award-winning cow from Lower Saxony was reported nationally and internationally. It was named after the pop singer Lady Gaga .

origin

Lady Gaga came from France from the bull Regancrest -LH Modest 10.503829 ( RZM 106; RZG 107; the current moving average is 100 each) and from a cow sired by the dam's father, Comestar Lheros . Her mother had an RZM of 91 and an RZG of 93 with an average production of 10,014 liters of milk with 3.59% fat (360 kg) and 2.84% protein (284 kg) from two 305-day lactations .

Lady Gaga later came into the possession of Henrik Wille (Future Genetics) from Essen / Oldenburg , who offered her for sale on July 20, 2013 at the 2nd Holstein Forum Kösters Variety Sale . At this point in time she herself had completed three lactation performances with an average of 11,443 liters of milk with 3.58% fat (410 kg) and 3.15% protein (361 kg) in 305 days. For conformation , she was rated 93 points on a scale of up to 100 points, with a cow with 90 or more points being considered Excellent . At the auction, it was bought jointly by Köster KG and the previous owner Henrik Wille for 12,400 euros. There were seven animals at the auction that were knocked down for a higher price. Her conformation rating was improved again by 2015. She received 95 total points and also 95 points for her udder .

Show successes

Lady Gaga had her first show successes even before the auction . At the German Holstein Show (DHV) in 2013 she achieved second place in her class. After the auction, she was one of five German cows that took part in the European show in Freiburg im Üechtland , where she came fifth in her class. After partial change of ownership, it was in 2014 by an international competition judge the overall winner of the Thuringia Thuringia Holstein Open crowned. In the same year she became the overall winner ("Grand Champion") at the DHV. In 2015 she was again Grand Champion at the DHV and also selected as Supreme Champion by the breeders in the All German Holstein competition in 2015 . At this point she had calved at least five times . In 2018 she was named the most beautiful cow in Lower Saxony and Saxony, winning the show of the best for the third time .

Others

Lady Gaga stood in her home stable - in contrast to the other cows that are kept together in the playpen - in a single box and was looked after by her own hairdresser who worked on her with a razor, hairdryer and brush. The fur was prepared for the show with oil, powder and hairspray.

In 2016 she won the show of the best in Verden . When asked about the secret of its success, its owner said it was important not only to see cows as a production machine, but to "understand them and sometimes leave them alone."

Lady Gaga had eight calves. She died at the age of 13 on December 3, 2019 after a brief illness in her stable.
