Sophie - Smarter than the Police (Additional title: Lady Mayerhofer ) is a television crime series produced by Sat.1 in 1997 . A quirky old lady clears up murders faster than the police.

action

Sophie Mayerhofer ( Enzi Fuchs ) is returning to her hometown of Regensburg from England after 25 years. She only speaks German with a strong English accent. Sophie's brother Ludwig, who also lives in Regensburg with his wife Charlotte and children Laura and Felix, earns his living as a detective. Time and again, Sophie interferes in her brother's cases and messes up his previously rather tranquil family life. Often she happens to get involved in murder cases. In an unconventional way, she clarifies so successfully that she usually finds a solution before the police arrive. Her old friend Father Anselm is helping her with this.

background

In this series, Enzi Fuchs plays an older lady who is very successful in criminal matters and uses an English accent and a black taxi. It is no coincidence that she reminds us of Agatha Christie's Miss Marple .
