Claretian lay movement
The lay movement of the Claretians ( en . : Lay Claretian Movement ; es . : Movimiento de Seglares Claretianos ; official abbreviation MSC ) is also known under the name "Laici Claretiani". It is a missionary association of believers and is part of the Claretian family . It was founded in 1983, recognized by the Holy See in 1988 and is represented worldwide by 135 local chapters in 23 countries.
history
The order of the Claretians was founded in 1849 by Antonius Maria Claret (1807-1870). One of the “missionaries, the Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary,” as the Claretians are fully called, was a lay apostolic organization . On the XIX. General Chapter , which was held in 1979, it was decided to include the lay organization “Laici Claretiani” as an independent association of believers in the Claretian family. On April 20, 1988, the Pontifical Council for Laity issued the Decree of Recognition .
Self-image
The main focus of the MSC's members is on the mission . They want to preach the gospel and are trying to transform the world according to God's plan. Your missionary work is accompanied by the Word of God and the Eucharist and is shaped by the mercy of the Mother of God . Their missionary work is aimed at the excluded and the poorest and is directed against injustice in the world. The members help to build up the local church by leading catechesis , providing biblical and theological education and working in parish and diocesan pastoral care.
Organization and expansion
The local groups are formed on the basic level, several local groups are combined to form regions . The regions are governed by the regional assembly and a regional council. At the international level, the highest body is the General Assembly , in which the regional councils and delegates from the local groups take part. The elected by the General Assembly General Council consists of several members and the Ecclesiastical Assistant . The MSC includes 135 groups worldwide, spread across Africa , Asia , Europe , North America and South America . The head office is based in Rome . German interests are represented by the Claretians in Spaichingen.
