The Laitaure is a lake in Lapland , in northern Sweden , through which the Rapaätno , a tributary of the Lilla Luleälven , flows. The Sarek National Park borders the lake. North of the lake is the 1179 meter high granite mountain Skierffe , the south side of which drops 350 m vertically and then another 350 m almost vertically to the 10 km² Laitauredelta. The Rapaätno, which feeds the lake, is one of the most water-rich rivers in Sweden and has 175 m³ / second of water at the entrance to the Laitaure, and 250 m³ / second and more after periods of rain. The river drains 30 glaciers and transports a corresponding amount of mud and debris, so that the estuary delta is getting bigger and the lake is about 50 cm smaller every year.
