The Lake Curlip is a natural lake at the lower reaches of the Brodribb River in eastern Gippsland in eastern Australian state of Victoria . The shore areas are marshland. The lake is not far from the estuary of the Snowy River and therefore occasionally fills with brackish water .
In the lake 10 km southeast of Orbost flows next to the Brodribb River and the Fat Cow Creek , a tributary. After the Brodribb River has left Lake Curlip, it flows a few kilometers further west into the Snowy River.
