history

Logo of the former LambdaNet Communications Deutschland AG / GmbH

The company was founded in 1999 by former employees of o.tel.o GmbH, who separated from the company after the takeover by Arcor . The headquarters of the former company CCG - Carrier's Carrier GmbH - was already in Hanover. In October 1999, the project name CCG was changed to the company name LambdaNet Communications GmbH based on the Greek letter Lambda , which is used in physics for the wavelength of light in the glass fiber.

On January 2, 2000, LambdaNet commenced commercial operation of the fiber optic network. In September 2001 LambdaNet was the first alternative network operator to put a Europe-wide IP / MPLS network with VPN services into operation. In mid-2003 the company name was changed to LambdaNet Communications Deutschland AG. In April 2004 LambdaNet became a 100% subsidiary of 3U Holding . On May 30, 2011, the company was then sold to euNetworks GmbH for around 27.4 million euros. In the same year, the AG into a GmbH was converted . In April 2013 the name was finally changed to euNetworks Managed Services GmbH .
