Lambert Bainomugisha

Lambert Bainomugisha (born July 12, 1961 in Kashumba , Uganda ) is a Ugandan clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Mbarara .

Life

Lambert Bainomugisha studied philosophy and theology in his home country and received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Mbarara on July 13, 1991 .

After ordination, he worked in parish ministry and in 1994 went to Canada for further studies, where he obtained a degree in canon law from Saint Paul University . After returning home, he was Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Mbarara from 2000 to 2005 .

On July 2, 2005, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . as titular bishop of Tacia Montana and auxiliary bishop in Mbarara. The Archbishop of Mbarara, Paul Bakyenga , donated him episcopal ordination on October 1st of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Kabale , Callistus Rubaramira , and the Bishop Emeritus of Mbarara, John Baptist Kakubi .

Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Mbarara on April 25, 2020. The inauguration took place on June 20 of the same year.
