Lambert Hofer (costume designer, 1879)
Lambert Hofer (born April 9, 1879 in Vienna ; † October 15, 1938 there ) was an Austrian entrepreneur who worked in costume rental and who also worked as a costume designer and costume supplier for the film, especially in the 1920s .
Life
Hofer comes from the Viennese costume rental dynasty Lambert Hofer, which has been active since 1862 . Called Lambert Hofer II within the family, shortly after the First World War , the Viennese began to get involved with his company in the Austrian silent film, which was flourishing early at the time. Hofer supplied several ambitious and expensive top productions of Sascha Film-Industrie AG with costumes, including the Alexander Korda productions Prince and Begging Boy, Lady of the Seas and A Sunken World . In 1926 he supplied a series of military uniforms for the Russia-critical Colonel Redl film Arsonists Europe . Lambert Hofer II barely appeared in the sound film. His son was Lambert Hofer .
