Lambia , in foreign language texts also Lampeia ( Greek Λάμπεια ( f. Sg. )), Is a village in the municipality of Lambia of the same name in the municipality of Archea Olymbia in the region of western Greece . Together with the smaller village of Amygdali, it forms a local community.

location

The village of Lambia is located at about 800 m altitude on the southern foothills of the Lambia Mountain, the southern continuation of the Erymanthos . To the east, below the village, the Klomboki stream flows southwards and flows into the Erymanthos after about three kilometers . Amygdali is about three kilometers southwest.

With 44.498 km², Lambia is the largest local community in the municipality. Agia Kyriaki and Tsipiana are adjacent to the west, and Kryovrysi to the northwest. To the northeast are Astras and Orini. The Erymanthos forms the natural border to the municipality of Gortynia in the Peloponnese region in the southeast . To the south is Koumani.

Administrative division

Founded in 1912 as a rural community under its Slavic name Divri ( Δίβρη ( f. Sg. )), Lambia was initially given the name Prinofyto in 1928 and its current name a year later. In 1940 the settlement of Barbota ( Μπαρμπότα ( f. Sg. )) Was attached and renamed Amygdali in 1955.

With the territorial reform in 1997 and the merger with the rural communities Astras and Orini , Lambia became the administrative seat of the municipality of Lambia . Since the administrative reform in 2010 , Lambia has had the status of local community in the municipality of the same name in the municipality of Archea Olymbia .
