Lambretta was a Swedish rock band .

history

Foundation and first album

When it was founded, Linda Sundblad was not part of the band, she only joined the band later. It wasn't until 1999 that the group became known in Sweden with the song Blow My Fuses from their debut album Breakfast .

Success with Bimbo

The song Bimbo (2002) from their second, self-titled album, which was released in Germany through use in various media, made them famous throughout Europe . a. Program trailers from DSF . The less successful singles Creep (2002) and Kill Me (2004) followed later . In 2005 the third album The Fight was released , which also did not match the success of the previous albums.

Dissolution and follow-up projects

In 2005, singer Linda sought a solo career, which led to the breakup of Lambretta; Another reason is said to have been the allegedly bad relationship with the band's management. On September 20, 2006, Linda Sundblad released her debut single Oh Father , which debuted at number 1 on the singles charts in Sweden. The following album, Oh My God , was released in November 2006 and landed at number 11 on the Swedish album charts. The style of music no longer had much in common with Lambretta's, Linda Sundblad now made pop music . The remaining band members founded the band Psych Onation , who preferred an even harder style of music than Lambretta last. The debut album Symphony of Death with new front woman Vilai von Hagman and new guitarist Jonas Sjöholm was released in June 2006.

In the autumn of 2010, the successor band Psych Onation was dissolved and Petter Lantz founded the industrial rock band Maniquin with the former Lambretta guitarist Klas Edmundsson .

In 2012 her song Bimbo was covered as a loser by the British metal supergroup Tainted Nation .

style

Lambretta's early works can be classified as pop and rock . The second album ( Lambretta ) goes mainly to rock and already borrows from metal . This tendency intensifies in the third and last album, for example the songs The Fight and Kill Me can hardly be compared with the older songs.
