Lamont Jones (born June 26, 1990 ) is an American basketball player . He is under contract with Bundesliga club Skyliners Frankfurt .
career
Jones, who grew up in Manhattan and was nicknamed "MoMo", played at Rice High School in New York City , the American Christian School in Aston, and then the Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson. In 2009 he moved to the University of Arizona and played there for two years, followed by two years at Iona College from 2011 to 2013 . In his university graduation season 2012/13, Jones averaged 22.6 points per game for Iona, which was the third-best value in this statistical category in the first division of the NCAA USA-wide.
Jones spent his first two years as a professional basketball player in Japan and the Middle East , in 2015 he moved to the Finnish first division club Lapuan Korikobrat and moved on to KK Mornar Basket Bar in Montenegro during the 2015/16 season . The basketball service eurobasket.com named Jones the top player of the year in the Montenegrin league after the end of the season.
After another year at the club, Jones was signed by the Bundesliga promoted Mitteldeutscher BC in the run-up to the 2017/18 season . During the 2017/18 season he scored a strong 17.2 points per game for the MBC and prepared an average of 3.6 basket hits for his teammates per game. In August 2018, Bundesliga competitor Ludwigsburg brought him, and Jones was also a top performer in the 2018/19 game year with an average of 12.5 points per match. He stayed in the Bundesliga, but changed colors again and joined the Skyliners Frankfurt during the 2019 summer break .
