Lance Acord

Lance Acord (born September 9, 1964 in Fresno County , California ) is an American cinematographer and film producer .

life and career

Acord attended Sir Francis Drake High School and studied photography and film at the San Francisco Art Institute . He began his career working with photographer and filmmaker Bruce Weber . Together they produced various documentaries, commercials and music videos.

Acord won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Cinematographer for his work on Fatboy Slim's Weapon of Choice music video , which starred Christopher Walken and directed Spike Jonze .

He has worked with directors such as Stéphane Sednaoui , Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris , Mark Romanek and Michel Gondry . Acord staged numerous commercials for clients such as Levi's , Volkswagen and Nike .

His first feature film was Vincent Gallos Buffalo '66 . He has since been the cameraman on Spike Jonze's films Being John Malkovich and Adaptation. , as well as in Peter Cares Lost Heaven . Directed by Sofia Coppola , he directed Marie Antoinette , with whom he had previously realized Lost in Translation and the short film Lick the Star .

In 1998, Acord and Jackie Kelman Bisbee founded the film production company Park Pictures.
