The State Office for Social Affairs, Youth and Supply in Rhineland-Palatinate is the supra-local social welfare provider , the state youth welfare office , the supply administration and the higher health authority . The headquarters of the state office is located at Rheinallee 97-101 within the state capital Mainz . There are branch offices in Koblenz, Trier and Landau and on Schießgartenstraße in Mainz.

The State Office for Social Affairs, Youth and Care was founded on January 1st, 1996 by merging the State Supply Office and the State Office for Youth and Social Affairs and takes on the tasks of a pension office in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The State Office is the advisory and supervisory authority for day-care centers , advisory and auditing authority (formerly home supervision ) for elderly care facilities and the central adoption center . It is home to the social pedagogical training center , the regional contact and advice center for former children in care and the integration office for disabled people . Furthermore, it is responsible for the supervision of pharmacies , the control of pharmaceutical production and the promotion of labor market policy measures . Compensation for services for disabled people in facilities is just as much part of the authority's range of services as the severely disabled person assessment procedure. After all, the state office is also responsible for the state schools for people with sensory disabilities in Rhineland-Palatinate.
