The regional emergency call center ( LNZ ; Italian: Centrale provinciale d'emergenza) is the control center of the South Tyrolean rescue service as well as the alarm center for the fire service and the other blue light organizations. She can be reached around the clock on the emergency number 112 . The previous emergency numbers 115 and 118, which are diverted to 112 , are still in use, but should be deactivated over time.

description

The state emergency call center is administratively a department of the Bolzano health district in the South Tyrolean medical company and is therefore managed by a primary.

If an emergency call arrives at the head office, an employee accepts the incoming call and opens a new case in the computer-aided management system, which is automatically forwarded to a dispatcher. This then alerts the required rescue workers in the next / most logistically most effective section. The following organizations are available to the LNZ (partial selection):

The national emergency call center uses the radio network of the national radio service of the Office for Civil Protection of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, which maintains a number of converters for this purpose. The radio network is to be digitized in the coming years to increase efficiency and for the purpose of data security.

history

The service was set up in the 1990s after an Italian law obliged every province to take measures to alert the ambulance service to the national telephone number 118. In order to streamline the service, the acceptance of emergency calls and alarms for the fire brigades (telephone number 115) were also incorporated in South Tyrol at a later date. Since 2017, alarms can also be sent using the European emergency number 112 .
