In the South Tyrolean sanitary company ( Azienda Sanitaria dell'Alto Adige in Italian , Azienda Sanitera de Sudtirol in Ladin ), the four health districts of the autonomous province of Bolzano - South Tyrol, including the associated seven hospitals , have been combined since January 1, 2007 .
The establishment is based on Provincial Law No. 7 of March 5th, 2001 and Provincial Law No. 14 of November 5th, 2001. On the same date, the four medical companies Merano, Bolzano, Brixen and Bruneck were converted into health districts and incorporated into the South Tyrolean medical company . The South Tyrolean Santitätsbetrieb is an instrumental body with administrative autonomy.
