Hochpustertal

The eastern part of the Pustertal located on the upper reaches of the Drau is often referred to as Hochpustertal . The term is not precisely defined. On the South Tyrolean side, the section between Niederdorf and the Italian-Austrian border , including the side valleys of Sexten and Braies , is usually included in the Hochpustertal; in East Tyrol, the further course from Sillian to Lienz .

The Alta Pusteria is known nationally above all for the Dolomites , especially the Drei Zinnen rock formation . The Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park and the Three Peaks Nature Park are part of the Dolomites World Heritage Site . The Fischlein Valley , the Braies Lake , the Plätzwiese high plateau , Toblach as a cultural center and San Candido with the Romanesque collegiate church are also considered tourist attractions .
