In the Sex Valley

The Sextental ( Italian Valle di Sesto ), including Sesto Valley or simply Sesto called, is a tributary of the Puster Valley in South Tyrol . There it is located in the far east, right on the border with Austria . Administratively it belongs to the municipality of Sexten (Italian Sesto ).

The valley, which branches off from the Hochpustertal near San Candido in a south-easterly direction, is about 20 km long and is drained by the Sesto Bach to the Drau . It is located at around 1300  m above sea level and extends south into the Drei Zinnen nature park with several three-thousand-meter peaks . Two southern side valleys are the Innerfeldtal and the Fischleintal .

Hochleist and Zwölferkofel

The Sesto Valley runs in a north-west-south-east direction and is flanked in the north-east by the Carnic Alps and in the south-west by the Sesto Dolomites . Its gentle alpine pastures - together with the nearby climbing mountains of the Three Peaks and other Dolomite peaks - make it a diverse holiday area that is also known for its woodcarvers .
