The Landesschützenverband Mecklenburg-Vorpommern eV (LSV MV) is the umbrella organization of currently 180 shooting clubs and is based in Neubrandenburg .

The State Rifle Association of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was founded on February 21, 1990, when the shooting sport officials from Neubrandenburg, Schwerin and Rostock met in Heiligendamm . By resolution of the delegates from the districts, Rolf Steinmetz (Schwerin) was elected President and Harry Schirrmacher (Rostock) and Horst Jürvitz (Neubrandenburg) were elected 1st and 2nd Vice Presidents of the association.

Harry Schirrmacher took over the management with the aim of preparing the first ordinary delegates' day of the association and having the entry made in the register of associations at the Rostock-Stadt district court.

On May 25, 1990, the state rifle association was registered under number 44. On June 16, 1990, the delegates in Sievershagen near Rostock elected the association's first presidium. Peter Viezens from Stralsund was elected president.

Structure and tasks

According to the association's statutes, the association is politically, ideologically and denominationally neutral.

The main tasks of the association are:

  • the promotion and monitoring of sport shooting based on uniform rules (DSB eV sports regulations)
  • the education and training of shooting sport officials, instructors, coaches
  • the organization and implementation of state championships
  • the representation of its members in relation to authorities and institutions in the country
  • the presentation of sport shooting in public
  • the promotion and development of shooting youth and women's work in the clubs
  • the maintenance of the Sagittarius traditions and customs

The highest decision-making body of the association is the delegates' assembly, which takes place every two years. As a further decision-making body, the entire board is responsible for the tasks incumbent on the delegate assembly in the years between the delegate assemblies. The presidium is elected for a period of four years.

The association is a member of the German Shooting Association and the State Sports Association of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
