The Landesverband Hochbegabung Baden-Württemberg e. V. ( LVH ) is a nationwide and voluntary self-help, information and advisory organization founded in 1998 for parents, educators and educators of gifted children from kindergarten to university. In many cases, he can point out possible solutions to the problems that arise in connection with giftedness in children and adolescents. LVH is a non-profit , registered association based in Stuttgart , Baden-Württemberg . The association represents the interests of around 400 families.
history
The LVH Baden-Württemberg eV was founded in 1998 and is closely connected to it in the history of Baden-Württemberg's promotion of gifted children. The LVH BW eV has contributed to a number of decisions by the Ministry of Culture through constant opinion-forming.
The regional association maintains parent groups in various regions of Baden-Württemberg, which act as a link to the members. Parents' evenings are held by the contact persons in the parent groups as required. These serve for the exchange of experiences between members but also with interested parents who are newly confronted with this topic. The following parent groups currently exist:

aims
- Strengthening of the competence center at the state high school for gifted students in Schwäbisch Gmünd as a state-wide advice center for all questions of giftedness and with the possibility of a recognized, free test
- Compulsory initial and further training of teachers on the subject of giftedness; Inclusion of the topic of giftedness in the respective curriculum
- Comprehensive further development of the promotion of gifted children in schools: networking, evaluation, scientific support with a special focus on issues relating to the class community, school psychology, social skills, ethics ...
- Appropriate equipment (staff, rooms, material) at each school to ensure individual support
- Better involvement of the LVH in the legislative process (see Art. 11 State Constitution of the State of Baden-Württemberg ) and in the further development of educational policy (e.g. with regard to the school concepts of community school and grammar school)

Since its foundation, the LVH BW eV has been promoting the topic of giftedness and its peculiarities. In particular, he is actively involved in the implementation of the rights enshrined in Article 11 of the state constitution of the state of Baden-Württemberg.

Prize for the gifted sponsor of the year
In order to honor personalities and institutions who have made a special contribution to the promotion of gifted people, the LVH BW eV awarded the "Gifted Sponsor of the Year" prize at a specially organized event between 2004 and 2012. Award winners have been:
- 2004 Ms. Angelika Raum, Rector of the Silcherschule in Esslingen and Ms. Ilse Streller, Rector of the Ebersteinburg Primary School in Baden-Baden
- 2005 Mr. OStDir. Hartmut Schmid, former headmaster of the Karls-Gymnasium in Stuttgart
- 2006 Mrs. Beate Quendt and Mrs. Nadine Raisch, teachers at the elementary and secondary school with Werkrealschule Döffingen
- 2007 Rector Hartmut Grassmann, headmaster of the Thiebauth School in Ettlingen
- 2008 Mrs. Angela Droste, director of the Robert-Mayer-Gymnasium in Heilbronn
- 2009 Mrs. Ingvelde Scholz, teacher at the Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium in Marbach and Professor Heiner Hoffmeister, teacher at the Karls-Gymnasium in Stuttgart
- 2010 Ms. Esther Ehninger, Rector and Head of the Breitwiesenschule Hochdorf and Mr. Hans Peter Brugger, Rector and Head of the Neuberg School Neckarsulm
- 2011 The kindergarten "Kribbel Krabbel" in Linkenheim-Hochstetten
- 2012 Mr. Karl Waidelich, director of the Königin-Olga-Stift in Stuttgart and Bernd Friedrich, longstanding director of the children and youth academy in Bad Waldsee
