The canton Helmstedt-Land existed from 1807 to 1813 in the Helmstedt district in the Oker department in the Kingdom of Westphalia and was formed by the Royal Decree of December 24, 1807. The rural canton of Helmstedt did not have its own main town and was administered from Helmstedt.
