from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The conservation area on Höleken a 8.23  ha large landscape conservation area (LSG) north of the West home in the city of Marsberg . The area was designated in 2008 with the Marsberg landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis . The LSG is surrounded by the landscape protection area open spaces northeast of Westheim . The area forms an important stepping stone biotope for species of the lean grassland in a landscape characterized by intensive agriculture.

description

In the Am Höleken landscape protection area there is only grassland and woodland. The area is located on a west-facing slope. As a rule, it is surrounded by fields, with intensively used fatty meadows bordered in the north and east. It is largely made up of poor pasture land, which is interrupted by some bushes. The area has a steep slope in the southern part. In the north-western part there is a meadow orchard with a slight slope to the south. Adjacent to it is a source trough, which is deeply cut and drains to the south. The embankments are covered with bushes. The source stream runs from north to south, limited in the east by a steep embankment. Here, on an embankment, there is an area with frequent leanness indicators. The lean grassland, the spring with its distinctive spring hollow, the spring stream and the orchard meadow in the northern part determine the value. The entire area has a richly structured small relief that gives the biotope complex with its interlocking types of biotope a special value. The hedge structures are valuable areas for animal species living in the field marrow.

In the LSG there is a legally protected biotope according to § 30 BNatSchG. The biotope area is listed in the biotope register of the State Office for Nature, Environment and Consumer Protection North Rhine-Westphalia as poor meadows and pastures with the name Grünland am Hoeleken and a size of 4.31 hectares.

Legal framework

The Am Höleken landscape protection area was designated as one of 30 type C landscape planning areas, meadow valleys and ornithologically significant open land . In the Marsberg landscape plan area, there are also three landscape protection areas of LSG type A, general landscape protection , where, among other things, the construction of buildings is prohibited. Furthermore, 17 landscape protection areas of LSG type B, outskirts and landscape character , where additional first afforestation and also the planting of Christmas tree cultures, ornamental branches and tree nursery cultures are prohibited. As in the other 29 type C landscape protection areas in the Marsberg landscape planning area, the LSG Am Höleken landscape protection area is also prohibited from converting grassland and fallow grassland into arable land or other forms of use. A maximum of two years of arable use within twelve years is permitted, provided that this prepares the renewal of the sward. This is considered an extended nursing shift . In the case of the extended care break , a minimum distance of 5 m from the central water bed must be maintained.

Protection purpose

The designation was made to maintain, supplement and optimize a grassland biotope network system in the floodplains and the lean grassland communities in the nature reserves , so that animals and plants can keep migrating and spreading, and the preservation of the occurrence of protected bird species and the protection of species-rich plant communities.
