Vidina Popov (* 1992 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actress .

Life

Vidina Popov has Bulgarian roots and was born in 1992 in Vienna as the daughter of the head coach of the Bulgarian athletes, Ilija Popov. In 1999 she gained her first stage experience at the Bulgarian school in Vienna, and in 2001/02 she played children's roles in Mariana Pineda and Die Frau ohne Schatten at the Vienna Volkstheater . In the ORF she was from 2003 to 2005 as part of Confetti TiVi in the program Confetti News , Kids4Kids and The Leaning Tower seen as children presenter and -reporterin. In 2011 she took part in the casting show Deutschland sucht den Superstar , where she made it among the last 35 candidates.

From 2012 to 2016 she studied acting at the Mozarteum in Salzburg . In 2013 she wrote the piece I am Bulgarian ?! which she showed in the Salzburg Theater in the Kunstquartier and in the Bulgarian Theater in Vienna. At the Theater im Kunstquartier she also appeared in The Power of Speech , Camelot - Handbook for Knights , World Rescue Mission , Cricket Parz and in Miss Sara Sampson in the title role. In 2014 she took part in the piece 32kilo poetry at Hebbel am Ufer, in 2015 she embodied Snow White in mirror at the casino on Schwarzenbergplatz of the Vienna Burgtheater .

In 2016 she gave the world premiere of Kuffar at the Deutsches Theater Berlin . The deniers of God in the role of Ayse on stage, at the Erlangen Theater she played Irina in the play Three Sisters , at the Schönbrunn Palace Theater she was seen as Juanita in Faith, Love, and Hope . Since 2016 she has been in front of the camera for the ARD television crime series Der Lisbon-Krimi , where she plays the leading female role as his assistant Marcia Amaya alongside Jürgen Tarrach as Eduardo Silva. Together with Tarrach, she recorded the song Ein Schrei on his Fado album, Fortunately, sad .

In the 2016/17 season she was a member of the ensemble at the Landestheater Niederösterreich , where she premiered in January 2017 with the world premiere of the play Roppongi by Josef Winkler and subsequently appeared in As You Like It and in The Conquest of the Golden Apple . Since the 2017/2018 season she has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater , where she appeared on stage in Everything Schwindel , Papa Loves you and The Last . In February 2020 she premiered with the title role in Maria von Simon Stephens . She also shot in 2020 under the direction of Nicole Weegmann for the episode Borowski and the fear of white men in the television series Tatort .
