Landscape protection area Büchenberg and Platzberg near Hesperinghausen

The nature reserve Büchenberg and Platzberg near Hesperinghausen with a size of 71.9  hectares is located north of Hesperinghausen in the urban area of Diemelstadt in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district . The landscape protection area (LSG) was designated in 1993 administrative district Kassel . The LSG consists of two areas around the nature reserve Büchenberg and Platzberg near Hesperinghausen , identical to the FFH area Büchenberg and Platzberg near Hesperinghausen (DE-4519-301), or connecting its four areas. The larger part of the LSG lies in the Kallental on both sides of the L 3198. In the north, the LSG borders directly on the state border between Hessen and North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). The Huxstein nature reserve is located north of the state border of North Rhine- Westphalia .

Area description

In the LSG there are forest areas, a hedge landscape with grassland, further arable and grassland areas on flat ground.
