Landturm is a residential area at the Lichteler Landturm , which gives it its name, in the district of Creglingen 's Oberrimbach district in the Main-Tauber district in the Franconian north-east of Baden-Württemberg .

geography

The Landturm residential area is about eight kilometers south of the town of Creglingen. The closest places are the Creglingen hamlet Lichtel after about one kilometer in the east, the Creglingen district of Oberrimbach after about two kilometers in the east and the Niederstettener district of Rinderfeld after about three kilometers in the west-northwest. The Landturm residential area is located in the area of ​​the boundary between Creglingen and Niederstetten.

history

The place was first mentioned in a document around 1400. On the table sheet No. 6526 "Creglingen" from 1934, the place was recorded as a land tower with three buildings. The Landturm residential area came to the town of Creglingen on February 1, 1972 as part of the formerly independent municipality of Oberrimbach.

Lichteler Landturm

The Lichteler Landturm was built around 1400 as the gate tower of the Rothenburg Landhege using individual humpback blocks. In 1526 the land tower burned down and was restored in 1631.
