The Landwirtschaft Golzow Betriebs-GmbH in Oderbruch is the largest agricultural enterprise in eastern Brandenburg and cultivates around 7,000 hectares and grows around 350 hectares of outdoor vegetables. The company's headquarters are in Golzow (Oderbruch) , district of Märkisch-Oderland .

history

Agriculture Golzow Betriebs GmbH emerged from the former model LPG Golzow after the fall of the Berlin Wall. In 1984 the North Korean President Kim Il-Sung visited the agricultural production cooperative (LPG) and was one of many prominent state guests who visited the model agricultural company in the GDR. Long-term chairman of the LPG was Arthur Klitzke from Golzow (1925–2008), who was instrumental in driving the rise of Golzow LPG into a model operation. His successor was Manfred Großkopf, who was managing director until 2012.

In 2005, the Golzow agricultural sector was the second largest recipient of EU subsidies in Brandenburg with around 2 million euros. The largest recipients in 2005 were the Berlin city goods with around 4 million euros. A total of 22 companies in Brandenburg received payments of over 1 million euros.

In 2012 Odega eG from Letschin became the majority shareholder of Landwirtschaft Golzow GmbH & Co KG with 65%.

structure

Operating facilities are located next to the headquarters in Golzow , in the neighboring towns of Sachsendorf , Rathstock , Alt Tucheband and Reitwein .

Products

In addition to growing vegetables , which supplies retailers in Berlin and the Manschnower frozen food company Frenzel Oderland, the dairy industry and market crops were the company's main source of income. In the meantime, however, all dairy cows have been sold and growing vegetables hardly plays a role anymore. In addition, however, there was a large biogas plant for which maize and sugar beet are grown on a large scale. Furthermore, fattening facilities for broilers are planned in the Oderbruch in order to expand the value chain of the company's own products.
