Long beds near birch moor
The long beds near Birkenmoor are two Neolithic long beds / large stone graves near the village of Birkenmoor in the community of Schwedeneck in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district in Schleswig-Holstein . The megalithic system of the funnel beaker culture (TBK) was created between 3500 and 2800 BC. Chr.
The long beds are in a field north of state road 44 between Borghorsterhütten and Birkenmoor about 50 m and about 110 m west of the confluence of state road 254 coming from the southeast (from Kaltenhof ) in an open field.
The long beds are two of the large stone graves near Birkenmoor , which have been preserved on the Danish Wohld and are under monument protection .
The graves are oriented roughly in a north-east-south-west direction, with the longitudinal axes offset by about 45 degrees from one another. The long beds are approx. 30 × 10 m and overgrown with trees.
The well-preserved mound of earth of the long beds, several of the stones of the enclosure and cap stones of the chambers are visible.
