Langensteinbach was a municipality in the Mittweida district until December 31, 2002 . After an administrative community had existed since 1999, it was incorporated into Penig on January 1, 2003 .
Districts
On January 1, 1994, the communities Niedersteinbach (with the district Wernsdorf) and Langenleuba-Oberhain merged to form the community Langensteinbach. On July 1, 1996 the municipality of Obergräfenhain was incorporated, so that the municipality consisted of the following districts:
- Langenleuba-Oberhain
- Niedersteinbach
- Obergräfenhain (since 1996)
- Wernsdorf
location
The area of the municipality is located north of Penig , west of Lunzenau , south of Rochlitz and east of Kohren-Sahlis .
economy
Despite the agricultural character, which is typical for the region, there are numerous smaller businesses in Wernsdorf, a 17 hectare industrial area and a roof tile factory in Obergräfenhain .
traffic
Both the B 95 and the B 175 still provide good transport links today. The Altenburg – Langenleuba-Oberhain railway line was shut down in the early 1990s; Most of the track systems still exist today.
