Langstrasse
The long road is a road which the Zürcher circuit 4 to the circuit 5 connects. It begins near the district court and heads north-northeast. After the underpass under the railway line of Zurich main station , a shorter section of Langstrasse follows in District 5 (Quartier Gewerbeschule ) and ends at Limmatplatz .
Places
The Helvetia Square , adjacent to the Long Street, is mainly through demonstrations on May 1 known, but is also used for festivals and markets. Right next to it is the area with the «Kanzlei» school building. Parts of the area are now used for cultural events and are used by the Xenix cinema.
On Langstrasse in District 4 there has been a “Piazza Cella” since 2009, named after Erminia Cella, who ran the Cooperativo restaurant at 36 Militärstrasse with her husband Enrico Dezza from 1935 to 1952 .
The northern end of Langstrasse is Limmatplatz , an important traffic junction in District 5. The dominant building on Limmatplatz is the Migros high-rise; in the direction of the main train station instead of the listed Limmathaus .

- The event offers a wide range of food and culture from many nations and is also intended to show the district and its diversity.

- The Longstreet Festival alternates with the Long Street Festival. In 2008 there was a long street festival, in 2009 the next long street festival.

Red light district
Langstrasse is known for its illegal street prostitution .
Traffic noise
In order to protect the residents from street noise, it is planned to make Langstrasse from Hohlstrasse to Militärstrasse car-free during the day from 2020. As one of the opposing parties, the Swiss Transport Club is calling for 30 km / h zones to be introduced on the surrounding streets due to the shift in traffic .
