The administrative community Lappeenranta ( Finnish Lappeenrannan seutukunta ) is one of two administrative communities ( seutukunta ) of the Finnish landscape of South Karelia . The southern part of South Karelia around the eponymous city of Lappeenranta belongs to it . At the beginning of 2009 the former administrative community Westsaimaa was connected to the administrative community Lappeenranta.

The administrative community of Lappeenranta includes the following five cities and municipalities :

Suomenniemi belonged to the administrative community of Lappeenranta as an independent municipality until it was incorporated into Mikkeli ( South Savo Region ) in 2013.
