Larry Ferguson (screenwriter)

Larry Ferguson (* 1940 ) is an American screenwriter and film director .

He made his debut as a screenwriter in 1981 with Mount St. Helens - The Killer Volcano . Five years later he was involved in the fantasy film Highlander - There Can Only Be One as a screenwriter. The comedy Beverly Hills Cop II followed a year later . In 1988 he wrote the screenplay for the thriller Presidio , followed by Hunt for Red October . In 1992 he made his debut as a director with the drama Made of Steel . Three years later he directed The Last Duel , also known as Gunfighter's Moon , his second and so far last film. Other films he was involved in as a screenwriter include Alien 3 and the 2002 remake of Rollerball .

For his work on Alien 3 he was nominated for the Saturn Award together with Walter Hill and David Giler .
