Larry Schuba

Larry Schuba (born January 29, 1951 in Landshut , Bavaria ; actually Rolf Schuba ) is a German country musician and has been an integral part of the German country scene since 1967.

Career

Schuba originally learned the craft of goldsmithing and was the owner of two goldsmiths and jewelry stores in the 1970s and early 1980s . In 1983 he decided to make music exclusively his profession.

Schuba is a singer, songwriter, producer and was the head of the German pop country band Western Union , which was dissolved in 2010. In the 80s, Schuba founded the Country Music Circus , a western swing formation .

During his career, Schuba had hits like Auf der Autobahn , I would really like to go to Nashville , Bärenstark or Transit Cowboy . In 1992 he wrote the title Thank You , which was voted "Country Song of the Year" by the GACMF . From 1997 to April 2011, Schuba hosted his own weekly country show on Radio Berlin 88.8.

Schuba is also the owner of the record label UNDO Records, a recording studio and the music publisher Cup Of Coffee .

With his band Western Union, Schuba has released more than 20 CDs since 1981. The following discography contains all solo albums.

  • 2001: Award "Goldener Truck" from "Trucker" magazine and ADAC
  • 2001: Award of the GACMF for the duet of the year (with Tom Astor )
  • 2002: Media Award from the GACMF for the best German country radio show
  • 2003: Country Circle Award for Singer / Songwriter of the Year
