Lars-Björn Freier (born July 2, 1971 ) is a former German indoor and beach volleyball player .

Career

Lars-Björn Freier started playing indoor volleyball at TSC Berlin in 1985 . He was active in the junior national teams of the GDR and the Federal Republic of Germany, as well as in the German national team . Freier played for the Bundesliga clubs TuS Kriftel , SCC Berlin , Post Telekom Berlin , Eintracht Innova Berlin, Volley Dogs Berlin and VV Leipzig . With the USV Salzburg he became Austrian champion and cup winner in 1994. Freier ended his indoor career in the regional league at USV Potsdam . Since 1991 Lars-Björn Freier has also played very successfully in beach volleyball . With Christian Tiemann he won the first German championship title in 1992 and took part in the unofficial world championship in Rio de Janeiro in 1993 . From 1995 to 1999 Thomas Brall , Uwe Körner and Vincent Lange were his partners.
