Lars Eckstein

Lars Eckstein (* 1975 in Marbach am Neckar ) is a German cultural and literary scholar and university professor.

Life

Lars Eckstein studied English, German and sports at the University of Tübingen and Indiana . He received his PhD in 2004 on Caribbean and African-American literature on the slave trade . After completing his doctorate, he spent a period abroad at the University of New South Wales in Sydney . He completed his habilitation in 2008. He was assistant professor for English at the University of Tübingen and has been professor for Anglophone literatures and cultures outside Great Britain and the USA at the Institute for English and American Studies at the University of Potsdam since 2009 .

In 2011, Eckstein was elected Vice-President of the Association for Anglophone Postcolonial Studies (GAPS; Association for Anglophone Postcolonial Studies ). Since 2016 he has been co-speaker of the DFG Graduate School Minor Cosmopolitanisms.
