Lars Meyer zu Bexten

Lars Meyer zu Bexten (* 1973 in Herford ) is a former German show jumper , FEI tutor and national trainer for juniors and young riders. He is the son of the show jumping rider Ulrich Meyer zu Bexten , who was very successful in the 1970s and 1980s .

Career

At the beginning of his career, Meyer zu Bexten was a successful show jumper himself, but now he is an international trainer. He achieved his first S-victory in 1988, at the age of 15. In 1990 he became the European Junior Team Champion. A year later he was awarded the Golden Riding Badge . In 1996 he won his first Nations Cup. As the German national coach, he has been working for the DOKR for several years . He can also be found at international tournaments as head of the team with the riders of the German national squad.

Since 2004 he has also been one of seven FEI tutors worldwide responsible for setting up an international coaching system. He has been a member of the national jumping team since 2005. The German Friendships and Bexter Hof Open tournaments take place annually on his facility . For several years he has been the trainer of mounted soldiers at the Bundeswehr sports school in Warendorf . Lars Meyer zu Bexten has been the national trainer for juniors and young riders since 2011. At the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, Meyer zu Bexten was the sporting director responsible for the horse jumping competitions .
