Lars Mytting (born March 1, 1968 in Fåvang , Ringebu municipality in Gudbrandsdal in Fylke Oppland in the Kingdom of Norway ) is a Norwegian editor, journalist and author.

Life

As a teenager, his favorite authors were younger American writers such as Mikael Niemi or Peter Hoeg or poets such as James McMurtry or Lucinda Williams . In later years he was a local and feature journalist for newspapers such as Dagningen , Aftenposten , Arbeiderbladet , today Dagsavisen or the music magazine Beat . He then began his professional wanderings, for example as a temporary worker in a car dealership, on a mink farm or on farms in Norway or Canada .

Mytting worked as a publishing editor for many years before his first novel Hestekrefter (Horsepower) appeared in 2006 , which was printed in German the following year. Writing has been his main occupation since 2008. His third book Hel ved (Real Wood) from 2010 is a non-fiction book about wood making and has been sold over 200,000 times in his home country.

Mytting leads a secluded life near the Norwegian town of Østerdalen with a wife, two children and three English automobiles and is writing new books.
