Career

Toborg moved to the Werder Bremen youth department as a C-youth . Under coach Thomas Schaaf he was runner- up in 1994 after a 2: 3 defeat in the final against Borussia Dortmund . The young striker came to FC Bremerhaven in 1995 through Werder Amateurs and SC Vahr-Blockdiek , where he played for the next three years. In 1998 he moved to the 2nd Bundesliga for Rot-Weiß Oberhausen . With the club he reached the semi-finals in the 1998/99 DFB Cup , where they were defeated by Bayern Munich in front of almost 50,000 spectators in the old Schalke Parkstadion . In 2002 he joined the upper division SV Wilhelmshaven . After only one season, the attacker switched to Sportfreunde Siegen . There he stayed for two years, where he was promoted to the second division with the team in 2005. Toborg then switched to SG Wattenscheid 09 . After Wattenscheid was relegated from the regional league, he moved to Rot Weiss Ahlen in 2006 . There he was, among other things, significantly involved in the promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2008 (23 goals this season). After he terminated his contract in 2010, he moved to the national division TSV Weißtal in Siegerland at the beginning of the 2010/11 season , where he became a player-coach and let his career end. After the season he ended his career as an active footballer. Toborg scored over 60 goals in four consecutive seasons from 2005/06 to 2009/10 and scored consistently in double digits every year. He played a total of 137 games in the 2nd Bundesliga. After the end of his football career, he is currently teaching sports and social science at a high school in North Rhine-Westphalia.
