The Laschkitzenbach is a brook in the municipality of Hopfgarten in Defereggen ( Lienz district ). The stream rises south of the Laschkitzenalm in the Villgraten Mountains and flows into the Schwarzach opposite the village of Plon . The name "Laschkitzen" is derived from the Slavic leska (hazel bush ).
course
The Laschkitzenbach rises in a valley head southwest of the Penzenkopf or south of the Laschkitzenalm. It feeds itself from two source streams that arise there, which unite north of the Laschkitzenalm, whereby a source stream previously receives a tributary from the northern slope of the Penzenkopf. The Laschkitzenbach initially flows north and reaches the tree line at around 1900 meters above sea level. As a result, the Laschkitzenbach strives in a north-northeast direction towards the Defereggental , where it runs over the entire stretch of the middle and lower reaches through the Plon forest. It finally flows into the Schwarzach opposite the Plonerhof.
