The Laser Vago is a two-person skiff with a trapezoidal device for the bow. The Vago has a gennaker . Due to the simple and robust construction as well as clear reactions to changes in the rudder and sail position, it is well suited as a youth and training skiff. The Laser Vago is made by Performance Sailcraft Ltd. made in England . The Laser Vago was presented for the first time at the end of 2005. In 2007 the boat was voted "Best One Design Dinghy" by Sailing World magazine. The boat is manufactured in two different versions, which are mainly characterized by different sizes and materials for the main sail and the gennaker .
hull
The fuselage is a sandwich construction made of polyethylene and foam as a sandwich material. The advantage of this construction is a high level of robustness and easy repair, the disadvantage is an increased weight compared to constructions made of glass fiber reinforced plastic .
Rig and sails
Movement on the boat is simplified by a tree vang arranged above the boom . The foresail is designed as a roller-furling jib and is always made of Dacron. Materials for the mainsail are either the simple Dacron or the more powerful Mylar . The gennaker is available in two sizes, but the material is the same.

The Laser Vago can be equipped with a trapezoidal device , which is standard equipment in the XD / Race version.
Regatta and races
The Laser Vago has not yet been recognized as an international boat class and can therefore not be used for either world or continental championships. Due to the assignment in the yardstick system, it is still possible to participate in regattas in which other boat classes also participate.
