Lasiocereus fulvus is a species of plant in the genus Lasiocereus from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Lasiocereus fulvus grows shrubby to a little spread out and reaches heights of 1.5 to 3 meters. The shoots have a diameter of 5 to 7 centimeters. The 10 to 14 blunt, somewhat wavy ribs are 5 to 7 millimeters high and hardly notched. The circular areoles are covered with orange felt. Flowering areoles are very large and have long white wool. The brownish red to reddish gray thorns have a yellowish tip. The awl central spines are 2 to 5 inches long. The 8 to 12 needle radial spines have lengths between 5 and 10 millimeters.

The flowers are up to 6 inches long. The green fruits have a diameter of 4 to 5 centimeters.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Lasiocereus fulvus is distributed in northern Peru on the Amazon in the Balsas district at altitudes of 800 to 1700 meters. It was first described in 1981 by Friedrich Ritter .

In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
