Per Lassi Karonen (born March 17, 1976 in Djura , Leksand municipality ) is a former Swedish rower who competed internationally exclusively in single .

Lassi Karonen from the Brudpiga RK rowing club in Leksand began rowing in 1994. In 2004 he reached the A-finals at the Rowing World Cup in Munich and finished fifth. At the 2005 World Championships , he finished second in the B-final and was eighth overall. In the 2006 World Cup season, he reached the A final three times and took a third, a fourth and a sixth place. At the World Championships in Eton he won the B final and was seventh overall. The following year he reached the A-final at the World Championships in Munich at the season's highlight and finished sixth overall. He also came in sixth at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing .

After finishing ninth at the 2009 World Championships , the 1.96 m tall Karonen won his only international medal at the 2010 European Championships in Montemor with the silver medal behind the Czech Ondřej Synek . At the 2010 World Championships , he finished seventh. In the World Cup season, Karonen crossed the finish line once in second and twice in third, and at the 2011 World Championships he finished fifth. At the end of his career, Karonen finished fourth at the 2012 Olympic Games in London .
