Scale bar was a cobalt - and tin - mine in the mountain station Johanngeorgenstadt at the rear Fast Berg between Johanngeorgenstadt and Erlabrunn above the Täumerhauses and Steinbaches .
The mine, which mainly mined cobalt and tin , was in operation in the 18th and 19th centuries. The associated tunnel was cut in the Steinbachtal at 685 m above sea level. After 470 m the pewter-bearing corridor on which the tunnel was driven joins the foothills of the Michael Spate . On this later, the Assumption mine, 1.5 km to the west, dismantled the Wismut treasure trove . From 1823 it was consolidated with the Neu Oberhaus Sachsen am Rabenberg (Erzgebirge) mine , and from 1826 also with the Fortuna treasure trove near Breitenbrunn / Erzgeb. In the vicinity of this municipality, the cold water tunnel was also purchased.
The mine had its own colliery house, but it burned down. In addition, the stamping mill of the Drei Brüder Gesinnung mine was acquired, which was driven by water from the overflow from the Walts-Gotter stamping mill and demolished after a short period of use.
In the pit, the foreman Johann Christian Leicht and the two miners Gottlob Friedrich Unger and Carl Heinrich Förster had an accident due to a mud breakthrough during a thunderstorm. The tunnel is broken.
From 1674 to 1688, in addition to the stamping mill of the Lattenschuppe treasure trove, the Christoph treasure trove was operated, in which tin was mined.
