from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Christoph Ferdinand III. Friedrich von Degenfeld (born May 31, 1739 in Ehrstädt ; † September 12, 1812 there ) was the landlord of Ehrstädt, Waibstadt , Unterbiegelhof and (since 1784) Wagenbach as well as co-lord of Neuhaus Castle and the Eulenhof . From 1792 he was a senior in the Degenfeld-Neuhaus condominium .

Life

He was the youngest son of Christoph Ferdinand I von Degenfeld (1699–1766) and Clara Juliana von Gemmingen-Aries (1699 / 1700–1766). From 1760 onwards, the father had reunited the entire property of Degenfeld-Neuhaus, but also started a protracted dispute with the Ehrstädt community, with the feudal farms and with the knightly canton of Kraichgau , which Christoph Ferdinand III. and his two older brothers Reinhard Philipp Friedrich (1722–1784) and Christoph Eberhard Friedrich (1737–1792) inherited the family property.

When the inheritance was divided, Reinhard Philipp Friedrich received the Eulenhof and the family's own property in Waibstadt and Unterbiegelhof, Christoph Eberhard Friedrich II received Neuhaus Castle and Christoph Ferdinand III. received the Württemberg and the Worms half of Ehrstädt. After property disputes had shaped the image of the family in the previous generations, the establishment of a condominium now ensured greater unity among the brothers in addition to the family entailment commission that applies to property .

The rule of the brothers was initially determined by the continuation of their father's disputes, which was mainly at the expense of the Ehrstadt subjects, which is why there was an uprising in Ehrstädt in 1768. The rebels later had to pay high fines, which were probably used in 1769 for the construction of Ehrstädt Castle , which has Christoph Ferdinand's initials above the portal. It was not until 1774 that a comparison between the Degenfeld brothers and the Ehrstädt community could be reached, which regulated the relationship between local rulers and subjects for a long time. In 1784 the brothers again received the fief in Wagenbach , which was once owned by the family, but withdrawn from the Electoral Palatinate in 1722 .

After the death of his brother Christoph Eberhard Friedrich in 1792, Christoph Ferdinand III. Senior of the condominium rule.
