Laura de la Uz (born February 14, 1970 in Havana ) is a Cuban theater , cinema and television actress .

Life

She made her cinema debut while still a student. For the role in the film Hello Hemingway , directed by Fernando Pérez , she was honored with the Coral Prize as best female actress at the XII Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano. In 1992 she graduated from the "Escuela Nacional de Instructores de Teatro" in Havana. Since then she has appeared successfully in numerous cinema and television productions and in the cinema. Her appearances in stage classics such as Electra Garrigó or La Boda and in television series such as Blanco y Negro ¡No! and ¡Oh, La Habana! received critical acclaim.

In 2000 she successfully completed her training as an actress at the Escuela Internacional del Gesto y la Imagen “La Mancha” in Santiago de Chile . As part of her studies, she was trained in the subjects of movement, facial expressions, masks, pantomime , street theater , classical comedy as well as buffon and clown .

In 2001 she directed Mentita's bar, a performance by the theater group “La Sombra” from Santiago de Chile.
