Laure Adler
Laure Adler (born Laure Clauzet on March 11, 1950 in Caen ) is a French journalist and book author.
Life
Laure Clauzet grew up as the daughter of a farming technician in the French colony of Ivory Coast and went to France to study in 1967. In 1968 she married the ethnologist Alfred Adler , later the journalist Alain Veinstein . She studied philosophy (Magister) and received her doctorate in history.
Between 1981 and 1987 she was a regular guest on Michel Polac's show Droit de réponse . From 1993 to 1997 she moderated the cultural feature Le Cercle de minuit on France 2 and then on Arte 's monthly program Permis de penser .
From 1999 to 2005 she was director of the radio station France Culture . She then took over the management of the Éditions du Seuil publishing house . In 2008 she gave a lecture on feminism at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris .
Adler has published a variety of biographical books. In 2014 she spoke to George Steiner .
