Stefan Bollmann (born March 21, 1958 in Düsseldorf ) is a German editor and author .

Life

Stefan Bollmann studied German , theater studies , history and philosophy . He did his doctorate with a thesis on Thomas Mann and, after a long stay in Paris, worked for six years as a university assistant at the University of Mannheim . Bollmann Verlag emerged from a cultural magazine founded after graduation. a. by Vilém Flusser , Undine Gruenter , Kevi Kelly , Pascal Lainé , Shyam Selvadurai and Oliviero Toscani . The publisher's greatest success was the “ Frei und Frau ” series with images of the life of women. Then Bollmann worked as a lecturer for various public publishers, with CHBeck since 2005 . He has also written several books as an author.

The book “ Women Who Read Are Dangerous. Reading women in painting and photography ”, published by Elisabeth Sandmann Verlag and with a foreword by Elke Heidenreich , has meanwhile been translated into 16 languages. The following works " Women who write, live dangerous " (2006), also with a foreword by Heidenreich, and " Why reading makes you happy " (2007) follow on from the subject of the bestseller. With regard to the latter work, the FAZ stated that the author is “strongly oriented towards the scheme of his successes”, that the “anecdotes are arranged in a collage-like manner” and that “reading is prepared for the masses”.

Stefan Bollmann lives and works in Munich.
